i7Grendel Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Stevie is having some problems lately with Internal Server Errors. These seam to be at random moments, and from what I've seen, it's a server side issue. Does my code do something horribly wrong, or is it a problem with your server. If so, please fix it.
Tjoene Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 This can happen from time to time. From my experience, the error occurs when you have your website and cPanel open at the same time. Try to avoid this and you shouldn't get the 500 errors.

Tjoene Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I don't know for sure that this is the cause. But I get a 500 error when I have both pages open.
jje Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I've just tried this theory on the administrator's test account, and it seems that this theory is true! When I opened cPanel, the pages loaded fine. However, when I went into the 'File Manager', the pages started showing 500 errors! Good find! Hopefully HelioPanel will solve this issue when I have time to work on it
Tjoene Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Glad I could help And you are right too, I got the error when the file manager was open, not cPanel.
PenTester Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 From my experiencel, the error occurs when you have your website and cPanel open at the same time. Yes. He is right, i had this problem and realised later. I have already posted about this in previous posts itself.
i7Grendel Posted July 31, 2011 Author Posted July 31, 2011 But I don't use the file manager, I connect with a local FTP client. Could that break the website as well? I'll have to test that.
i7Grendel Posted July 31, 2011 Author Posted July 31, 2011 Wait, I just found out I got a 500 because of an apparently misconfigured .htaccess (with code cl58 gave me!). Now let's see if we can find anything out when it happens again.
Tjoene Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 It basically happens when a person surfs on the site and you are editing the files on the same moment on the server.
PenTester Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 It basically happens when a person surfs on the site and you are editing the files on the same moment on the server. Said in simple words. Yeah, don't view your web page when you are in ftp, cpanel.
Ice IT Support Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Here's a link I found in one of jje's posts somewhere that might help... http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/stevie.heliohost.org
jje Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Yup; there it is. When I was testing it with the administrators account, I went to the Twitter page at the top of every page on HelioNet, since that is hosted on the same account and it showed 505.
Brother Hassan Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 But what if someone else is visiting my website & I'm editing it ?
