Ashoat Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Stevie has been really slow ever since the power disruption, so we're planning a corrective force-fsck on his disks to see if we can correct the problem. The unfortunate part is that this could cause quite a lot of downtime. We'll start the process at 9 PM on Monday night.
Wizard Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Is there no way to switch to a file system with journaling enabled?
Ashoat Posted May 15, 2011 Author Posted May 15, 2011 Yes, but we purposely switched away from that to improve performance.
jje Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 After the maintenance is complete, Stevie should be a lot more stable. Stevie will be down for approximately 24 hours
cl58 Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Stevie is up and running (for me, at least), but it has not been nearly 24 hours. Is the maintenance complete?

Ashoat Posted May 17, 2011 Author Posted May 17, 2011 Sorry guys, I forgot about this last night. Maintenance is being run right now.
Ashoat Posted May 17, 2011 Author Posted May 17, 2011 The server seems to think that it has completed the fsck. Let's hope it's faster...
