spikey Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Hi It would be much appreciated if I could be granted a dedicated IP to continue work on my website. Username= shoogler Domain= foogler.com I've got a SSL certificate and private key from StartSSL and been trying to get this working on my website that I'm developing. However everytime I get a SSL connection faulure message:- SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length. (Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long) Having search around this forum for possible solution it seem I need this dedicated IP. Hope you can help. Thanks. Spikey
Guest Geoff Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 The cost for a dedicated IP will be $12 a year, because that is what our parent host is charging us. Would you be willing to pay this?

OK I pass on that, I only need it for about 5months for testing purposes. I thought it was something provided upon request and unaware actual cost was involved e.g. http://www.helionet.org/index/index.php?sh...;hl=certificate Thanks anyway for a great site. Spikey
jje Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 We weren't charged for dedicated IPs back then. Recently, our provider of IP addresses has demanded $12 per IP - HelioHost does not profit from this amount.
Guest Geoff Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 This occurred because IPv4 addresses ran out. When cPanel implements IPv6 support, dedicated IPs will be free again. For more info see http://tunnelbroker.net
