Does anybody here speak Japanese, or is learning Japanese? I am learning Japanese and I thought that a topic about it could help Japanese learners get some help from fellow users who may also be learning Japanese, or are already native speakers of Japanese.

i only just started learning last year at school, we basically learn hiragana, first year, second year katakana and third kanji.

its easy, if you take it in baby steps, once you know the basics its easy to construct sentences, i mean to turn a statement into a question you just need to add ka, its not hard..

I've been watching some japanese dramas lately and decided that I wanted to learn the language so I don't have to keep looking at the subtitles. So far, I know "konichi wa," "watashi wa khris desu," "yatta!"... haha yea, it's not much, but it's a start...

i think some japanese words are from chinese origins, so in that sense, it's kind of similar...but they also took words from other languages and made it japanese...
