darsh Posted March 22, 2011 Author Posted March 22, 2011 10 hours no down how i cant log in can my site move to other server
Byron Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 We are not accepting requests to move anybody to the new server. You'll just have to be patient with the 500 errors until we finish the purging of hundreds of inactive accounts. Sorry!
jje Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Yeah - it will be awesome. We are actually not planning to allow server move requests (this may change though) but we haven't made any firm decisions yet. Please don't spread any rumors.
jje Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 There will probably be intermittent 500 errors. We haven't made any permanent decisions yet. When Johnny is up, both servers will be much more stable. If you use services like ASP.NET (etc), then you will probably be moved to Johnny by request (or any other way). We haven't made any permanent decisions though - please don't spread rumors.
Guest Geoff Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 The reason behind not moving accounts to johnny is that It would be too much work (both for mortals, and the servers). Instead, we will probably end up deleting accounts on stevie, and then letting you sign up for johnny.
jje Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Yes. When Stevie and Johnny have a balanced amount of accounts, both will be really stable. Only websites on the Johnny server will be able to use services like ASP.NET and JSP. Websites that don't use ASP.NET or JSP will be hosted on Stevie. However, Stevie will be more stable than Johnny. (we don't have any permanent decisions)
