jje Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Just type in a percent symbol % . Not %cine.heliohost.org .
jje Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Did you assign the user to the database via 'MySQL Databases' in cPanel.
teo_turtle Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 http://img837.imageshack.us/i/cpanelr.png/ any ideas ? I have been disappointed
jje Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Yeah - that's what we're talking about. I tried putting an * in my Remote SQL, and it said that symbols were not allowed, but a wildcard (%) was.
nickel Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 i'm having the same issue with remote access as well... even though i put in % as a wild card and my own actual ip into the remote access sql ip, it didn't work.. i'm working on johnny by the way. if i use localhost to access, it worked perfectly. If accessing via Localhost: Successfully connected to the server 'johnny.heliohost.org' MySQL client info: 5.0.92 Successfully connected to the database 'shoeme_shoeme' If accessing remotely: Could not connect to the server 'johnny.heliohost.org' A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. Access denied for user ''@'localhost' to database 'shoeme_shoeme'
Guest Geoff Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Johnny might be firewalled temporarily. You have a different issue; open a new thread in customer service.
jje Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Try using 'stevie.heliohost.org' OR 'johnny.heliohost.org' as the host instead of your domain name.
