Guest Guest_Alex_* Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 When I FTP into my acccount (iaxxeel with domain of alexsforum.cz.cc) and go into \public_html it shows me the following folders: _private _vti_bin _vti_cnf _vti_log _vti_pvt _vti_txt _vti_inf.html And other standard stuff like cgi-bin and images. Am I okay to delete these folders? I'm not sure if I'm supposed to see these and or if they are essential core files.
Byron Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Go to your cpanel and look for Frontpage Extensions and click Uninstall. That will remove those folders. I would probably keep the cgi-bin though.
jje Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 The files with the prefix 'vti_' and the '_private' and 'images' folder can be deleted, as they are generated by programs such as Microsoft FrontPage, and can also be generated by FTP clients. However, we recommend you keep the cgi-bin folder, as CGI scripts rely on thos folder.
