Fred_ Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Hello, When trying to establish a FTP connection the procedure often stops. I tried: Filezilla v3.3.5.1 12:47:00 Status: Resolving address of ftp.airplanes.heliohost.org 12:47:00 Status: Connecting to 216.218.192.170:21... 12:47:01 Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... 12:48:47 Error: Connection attempt interrupted by user 12:48:51 Status: Resolving address of ftp.airplanes.heliohost.org 12:48:51 Status: Connecting to 216.218.192.170:21... 12:48:51 Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... 12:50:52 Error: Connection timed out 12:50:52 Error: Could not connect to server 12:50:52 Status: Waiting to retry... 12:50:57 Status: Resolving address of ftp.airplanes.heliohost.org 12:50:57 Status: Connecting to 216.218.192.170:21... 12:50:57 Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... 12:52:58 Error: Connection timed out 12:52:58 Error: Could not connect to server 12:52:58 Status: Waiting to retry... 12:53:03 Status: Resolving address of ftp.airplanes.heliohost.org 12:53:03 Status: Connecting to 216.218.192.170:21... 12:53:03 Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... 12:55:04 Error: Connection timed out 12:55:04 Error: Could not connect to server 12:55:04 Status: Waiting to retry... 12:55:09 Status: Resolving address of ftp.airplanes.heliohost.org 12:55:09 Status: Connecting to 216.218.192.170:21... 12:55:09 Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Connection closed by remote host. ... but it doesn't make a difference. Sometimes I get a connection without any problem; sometimes I don't get a connection. Can I do anything to improve this? Thanks, Fred.
jje Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 This can be caused by high server load. High server load is caused by high-use of the servers, abuse, or simply just alot of users using HelioHost. The server load is available in my signature. The server load should be much lower when Charlie is up and running. Have you tried using Web Disk instead?

The server load is not shown on my screen. Your message ends with the two lines shown below. Some days ago I did see the server load in your messages. Greetings, Fred. We are now trialling a brand new Q&A Site which we hope to be the best way of getting support! Learn more by clicking here! Below is the server load. The higher it is the slower. It's best when it is below 20.
jje Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Yeah - Stevie's malfunctioned, meaning that nearly all services are down right now. This will be fixed within 24 hours.
