frafra Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Hello, I'm new here and i found a problem. I tried to install radiant gem but i get this error: Building native extensions. This could take a while... ERROR: Error installing radiant: ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension. /usr/bin/ruby extconf.rb creating Makefile make gcc -I. -I/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/x86_64-linux -I/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/x86_64-linux -I. -fPIC -g -O2 -O2 -c redcloth_attributes.c make: execvp: gcc: Permission denied make: *** [redcloth_attributes.o] Error 127 Gem files will remain installed in /home1/pollione/ruby/gems/gems/RedCloth-4.2.3 for inspection. Results logged to /home1/pollione/ruby/gems/gems/RedCloth-4.2.3/ext/redcloth_scan/gem_make.out I tried other gems and installation goes fine. Need I to be root? How can do this? Sorry, but I don't know how to move. Thanks for answers
jje Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Looks like Radiant is incompatible with the version of Ruby/Red Cloth that we are using. This support request is being escalated to our root admin.
frafra Posted February 7, 2011 Author Posted February 7, 2011 Thank you for answers. I get the same error wrote in former post. Before to select gem there is this message: You will need to add /home1/pollione/ruby/gems to the include path. You can do this by adding the following code to your script: $:.push("/home1/pollione/ruby/gems") Is it related with the error? Where can i find the script just named? Thx frafra
