Ashoat Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 We have installed the proxy services at http://prx.heliohost.org. Also, instead of having one mass password, we have implemented a more secure system: everyone has their own password. For more information on how to register for free proxy access click IBStore in the upper right hand corner of this page. What is a proxy? The point is, it allows you to do two things: 1. Surf annonymously (if you're gonna do this, we totally recommend to disable scripting. it won't be annonymous otherwise. the option to disable scripting appears when you login to the proxy). 2. Bypass firewalls (like the one at school that won't let you go anywhere) Also, now 100 Helions earns you a year of proxy access. Taht is teh roxxors. (Translation: That is good).
GameClaw_268 Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 I believe that way he can set it up so that only one session per password, and can "revoke" passwords of those freely giving them away. I don't have to worry about this, my school comps don't block helionet.
Ashoat Posted March 6, 2005 Author Posted March 6, 2005 nonono, you can get ANYWHERE. not just helionet. ANYWHERE. the security is if someone registers and gives his pw away.
wee Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 question about this proxy. does it support java? if so i have a potential member from my temple.
Ashoat Posted March 9, 2005 Author Posted March 9, 2005 yes, it supports everythign a standard browser does. except websense is blocking it currently (will be fixed).
