soul2197 Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Hi, I recently cancelled my account with another provider and I wanted to transfer my domain name. They said they have unlocked it and have given me an authorization key but I am a little new to this and don't know how the process works. Also they said they changed nameservers for me to point to the HelioHost servers. Can someone explain if this is possibility and if so, what steps should I take? Thanks! Quote
Wizard Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 What's your domain name? If it's pointing to our nameservers, all you have to do is register an account with that domain name. Quote

The domain name is robotdan.com. I registered the account with www.robotdan.com. Is that still okay? Do I have to do anything with the authorization code? Quote
Guest Geoff Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 www.robotdan.com is pointing to heliohost's nameservers, but it will take 48 hours for the changes to update througout the web. Right now, the domain's TTL simply has not expired, so the changes have not taken effect yet. Also, the 'authorization code' that you metioned has nothing to do with domain names. My guess is that it is some code that justhost made up to make it look official. Update: sorry, meant to put 'is pointing', not 'is not pointing'. Quote
soul2197 Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 Okay, so I should try waiting like 48 hours and then see if I can access www.robotdan.com/cpanel? Quote
Byron Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Okay, so I should try waiting like 48 hours and then see if I can access www.robotdan.com/cpanel? I just checked and your site is in the queue and your domain name is pointing to us. It should be up tomorrow. Quote
