iamryo
Hi All, I just signed up for hosting and am waiting for the process to complete, but I anticipate problems as the domain I own is currently hosted by Microsoft Office Live. I've never transfered a domain and am not sure of the process. Does anyone have experience with this? Can you give me some pointers or point me to a thread that might help? Thanks in advance, Ryan
Byron
You should have registered with your domain name and pointed it to our nameservers: ns1.heliohost.org ns2.heliohost.org If you did that, it should only take 24 to 48 hours to resolve. iamryo
I've clearly screwed something up. I can't get to my domain through Microsoft Office Live any longer and when I try to sign into HelioHost, I get an error: Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to www.heliohost.org:2082 This is the first time I've ever moved a domain and would appreciate any insight available. Thanks, Ryan
iamryo
Maybe I should have posted this under the Questions topic. If it helps, my username is iamryo and my domain is ryanpclark.com Thanks again, Ryan
Byron
Moving to Customer Service. You still need to point your domain to our nameservers. Right now your still pointing to officelive.com http://byrondallas.heliohost.org/php/tools....com&rec=NS You should still be able to login to your account through the login link in my sig though. Guest Geoff
I might be wrong, but it looks like you are using MelbourneIT for your domain name. If that is the case, go here. Then change the nameservers to heliohost's nameservers. If you have any questions, post back here.

iamryo
Thanks. I finally figured out how to access my nameserver settings and change them. But... I still can't login to either HelioHost or ryanpclark.com/cpanel I understand it may still take a while for cpanel, but I don't get why I can't login to HelioHost. Byron
You should be able to login from both places now. Are you using ALL lowercase with your username and password?
iamryo
Still nothing, but I'm beginning to suspect it's a problem on my end... I'm at work and we've got all sorts of wacky firewall settings and blocked sites, etc.. I'll try from home later and let you know how it goes. Thanks for all the help. Byron
You might try going through here at work before you give up. http://cpanel.heliohost.org If later you still have a problem I can reset your passord for you since the auto reset seems to be down. iamryo
That did it! I'm up and running. Thanks again for the help! In case anyone reads this in the future and is looking to get away from Microsoft Office Live (their hosting is awful) here's a link to the site that finally helped me figure it out: How to cancel MOL account and move domain
