mark 2
Hey, I am testing my application and I need Https. I have generated from the cpanel my selfigned SSL certificate. But I can't install it on my doman. Maybe it is because I have a shared IP address? Can I have a dedicated IP addres so I can try the SSL function? Thanks My domain is: palliance.heliohost.org / palliance.co.cc my username is: pall

Ashoat
Are you aware that self-signed certificate will be red-flagged by all modern browsers?
mark 2
Yes, but this will be not a problem for me.
Ashoat
Okay, you've been granted a dedicated IP.

Guest Geoff
You know that you do not need a dedicated IP for ssl; I have one currently installed on my site and djbob has not given me a dedicated IP. I don't really think anyone knows this, though.
Ashoat
Geoff: it's a bit complicated, but because of our setup the system thinks that you have a dedicated IP when you really don't. Out of curiosity, are you actually able to use the certificate?
