PHP Safe Mode

I signed up for a host that did not have safe mode on, but I still cannot use exec() function of PHP! Why is that so and can you allow me to use that? It is needed for the script I am currently working on. If you cannot, is there a workaround? Thanks

We disable exec() for security reasons, and no, there's no work around.

Can you recommend a host that allows this?

I am 98% certain that no free host allows exec() because of the severe security hazard it puts on the system. I know a number of people who can crash a server if exec() is enabled.

 

However, PAID hosting should be able to support you
