There are all sorts of web browsers on today's market, but which one is the best? That is, based on features, compatibility, versatility, reliability, et cetera.

You forgot Opera, and "IE Based alternatives", and Konquerer, and regular Mozilla. Oh and safari.

I was in a hurry, and besides, those constitute as "Other". But Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox are the most widely used.

I am going to have to go with Mozilla Firefox, cuz of its integrated pop-up blocking. But Microsoft Internet Explorer would come in as a close second because of its better bookmarks and less compatibility problems.

FYI, IE has integrated popup blocking, as long as you have XP SP2. No seriously, it does. It even displayes a little "information bar" to inform you that a popup has been blocked.

i guess we'll never know for sure. i'm using firefox, but otherwise i'm staying out of this vote.

Lol, actually opera works well and has most of the stuff firefox does. I use firefox now though because its loaded on my computer.
