gunnelsunder Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Hi, I've lost my cpanel password and can't seem to use cpanel's password reset feature at HelioHost - the cpanel login page offers it but the confirmation code email never arrives. (It's not in my spam box either.) <snip> the account is about to be suspended for inactivity. Can anyone help? Thanks very much in advance.
Wizard Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 I've reset your account and PM'd you the new password.
gunnelsunder Posted July 31, 2010 Author Posted July 31, 2010 I've reset your account and PM'd you the new password. Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately it hasn't resolved the issue :- I can't log in using the new password either. (Last checked a few mins ago.) Have tried using different IPs plus a proxy in case I've suffered an IP ban, and also the account renewal feature in the Support FAQ. No joy. Can't see any mention of propagation delays for cpanel pasword resets on the forums so I guess waiting won't help either. I'm clean out of ideas - any help with this problem much appreciated.
Wizard Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 firstreefsailing.com doesn't point to our nameservers. Do you own the domain? (Add "321321" to the password and it should work.)
gunnelsunder Posted July 31, 2010 Author Posted July 31, 2010 (Add "321321" to the password and it should work.) Perfect - that did the trick. Thanks. :-) Do you own the domain? Web hosts - paid or free - don't tend to support all DNS features I need (SRV records are invariably missing), hence the separate nameservers. Works well enough as long as the IP addresses are reasonably stable. Great to be back in business. Thanks again.
