Can't create tables on PostgreSQL

Hi, I am using a PostgreSQL database with phppgadmin. When I try to create a table I get the following error:

 

ERROR: permission denied for schema public

 

I cheked my user's privs and they are fine, any idea on what is causing this? Am I doing something wrong?
