PHP/File structure

I kind of have two problems. They may be related. First one, I can't seem to get PHP scripts to run. I get 404 errors. Second I was trying to upload with Microsoft Expression and I think it accidental deleted some important folders and files.

Make a php page with this simple script and post the url.

What folders and files did you delete? If they were Frontpage folders and files then your ok and you need to go to your cpanel and remove the rest by clicking Frontpage and then uninstall.

And currently in my root I only have access-logs, etc, public_html, tmp, and www.

Well your php file is working but since I don't remember what the default files and folders should be in the root how about I just delete your account and let you register another account?
