[Solved] FTP limits?

I have been trying to pull down the files on my site for backup and it gets to file #5 (or directory #4) and suddenly gives a

error, cannot connect to host

and then

    421 Too many connections (8) from this IP

 

Ive limited Filezilla to 1 CONCURRENT connection. Is there only 1 connection allowed via ftp or is there a limit on dl/ul within a given time frame?
