Account not yet active

My account is still not active even after 3 days. Is it normal...because after signup it was mentioned that account will be activated in 48 hours time. And also during account creation and till now i haven't got any emails for activation or with other information. Please let me know whether this is the right procedure ? I'm eagerly waiting for the account to be activated...Thanks
