Publishing my own domain

I am having trouble publishing my own domain on Heliohost.com from RapidWeaver. My domain is jadepillow.com and the files are in my account

 

The "getting started wizard" says the public_html directory is:

"/home/reiki/public_html/"

so I put this as my site path (I have also tried just "public_html")

 

My web address is: http://jadepillow.com/

 

I get a listing of filrs on the website by that's all.

 

Since I have tried a few things I probably have too many files uploaded and duplicated now. Should I delete them and start again.

Can someone please help me with this?

That's the directory where you build your site. You can add directories to your public_html just like the images directory and the cgi-bin directory that's already there. What you need to do to keep from showing your public_html files is to create a index.html file and call it your home page and then when somebody goes to this site:

 

http://jadepillow.com/

 

they will see your index.html page or your home page.

Thanks for the quick response, but I am still having trouble. In the Heliohost File Manager I copied the contents of the old "home file" to the "index.html" folder and deleted the "home file". Then in Rapidweaver I made the site path "index.html" as well as my home page.

 

What maybe the confusion is that in my C-Panel Stats my

 

Main Domain jadepillow.com

Home Directory /home/reiki

 

I have tried to change the Home directory to index.html without success.

 

Could this be my problem?

You don't want to put anything in:

 

/home/reiki

 

only you can see that directory. You want to put everything inside this directory:

 

/home/reiki/public_html

 

which is this:

 

jadepillow.com

 

If you make a file (not a folder) called index.html it will be your home page for this domain jadepillow.com

I deleted all the files/folders in Heliohost

 

In Rapidweaver I put

 

Server: Jadepillow.com

Path: /public_html

Page 1 File Name: index.html

 

and then I republished everything and it looks good. Thanks again.
