ghost of delete key Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 I've been lurking since applying for hosting... I see the issues at hand for the registration process, so I understand what is going on. Since it's been 72 hours, I'll simply toss my hat into the ring as well, if it helps any: Registered - 22 Oct. Domain - godk.heliohost.org Username - godk (in proper case!) I do have one other problem, though- I unwittingly used a Yahoo! mail address for signup, and have subsequently seen in other threads here that there may be blocking issues with Yahoo!. I have not yet received any confirmation email in either my inbox OR the spam folder. I'm assuming then that Yahoo! is indeed blocking email from your IP... My question is: Is there a way to change my email to something else, like Juno, since I cannot yet login? I assume this would have to be handled manually by Admin? Thanks in advance, and I'll be watching this thread for directions.
Byron Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Usually you'll get the confiration email at yahoo. But if you feel sure that you registered correctly just keep watching for your account to come up and if and when it does you should be able to login to your cpanel like this: godk.heliohost.org/cpanel then you can change the contact info.
ghost of delete key Posted October 25, 2009 Author Posted October 25, 2009 Usually you'll get the confiration email at yahoo. Excellent. So... once the queue has flushed through my application, I will be able to login regardless of not having received the email? OK, I'll be watching. BTW, I've saved the application page with data in situ, so I know I have the correct details at hand. I already have godk.heliohost.org/cpanel bookmarked. (still "server not found") Thanks again, hope all turns out well soon.
ghost of delete key Posted October 30, 2009 Author Posted October 30, 2009 *BUMP* for update justice... So, today I find that godk.heliohost.org is indeed online (thank you!), but now I find, same as I am reading elsewhere, that I cannot login through godk.heliohost.org/cpanel, at which point I'm redirected to http://stevie.heliohost.org:2082/login/, which also fails. Yes, I have carefully checked the username/pass, and have tried clearing cookies and cache, have cookies enabled in-browser, AND have my firewall & AV both turned off (which I hate doing). As far as the email response goes, absolutely nothing has come through. Yahoo has been continually messing with their interface, and there is no way to whitelist a given domain although I do have the spam filter off. Somehow I don't think that makes any difference. I also tried hitting the "reset password" link in the cPanel, with the same lack of receipt. I take it that this is all part 2 of "The Problem"? Will this be repairable, or am I toast?
Byron Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 You could try logging in this way and make sure your username and password are both in lowercase. http://godk.heliohost.org:2082/frontend/x3/index.php If that doesn't work then you'll just have to be patient for the problem to resolve and nobody knows when that will be. Sorry.
dmmcintyre3 Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 me too, cannot login to cpanel. site:dmmcintyre3.heliohost.org username: dmmac

ghost of delete key Posted November 7, 2009 Author Posted November 7, 2009 Seriously? 2 weeks +? Still no login ability. Question: Again I have tried the "reset password" option in cPanel, again no response in my Yahoo inbox, so certainly either it is not being sent, or it is being filtered out beyond my control. * Will having requested a password reset alter my login negatively if the reset link was never activated (since I haven't received it)? * Is it possible for admin to query the db and grok the particulars of the login such as email addy? (I'm certain it is correct as I copied it straight to txt), or possibly set it up manually?

No. * Is it possible for admin to query the db and grok the particulars of the login such as email addy? (I'm certain it is correct as I copied it straight to txt), or possibly set it up manually? It would be possible if the admnistrator was around but he hasn't been around in awhile and we're not sure when he'll be back. Sorry.
ghost of delete key Posted December 7, 2009 Author Posted December 7, 2009 Hello again. Since our last exchange, my domain has gone from "visible but inaccessible" to "completely gone". I've been putting off posting my reviews in the webhosting review forums, as I sincerely wanted this account to work out and impress me at least as much as the feature base you "offer". Is there anything left to try, or to say, before I go ahead and move on down the road? I'll put off posting my reviews of this experience just a short while, in hopes that MAYBE something good happens. If anything does, you have my email addy, you can hit me there. Oh, wait... you need the administrator to do that, right? Sorry this ain't working.
