Hell_of_BSOD Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Someone has told me i had to post a request in order to install ssl and https to my domain hell-of-bsod.heliohost.org What have I to do ? BSOD@+
Ashoat Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 You'll need a dedicated IP to get SSL to work. Do you have an SSL certificate you want to install?
Hell_of_BSOD Posted September 2, 2009 Author Posted September 2, 2009 Yes I have a self-signed personnal certificate how could I have a dedicated IP ? and how could I use HTTPS ?
Ashoat Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 I can grant you a dedicated IP. Are you sure you want to use a self-signed certificate? Most browers will red-flag this and try to prevent users from visiting your site. Why not try a free solution like InstantSSL?

I'm interrested, but I want neither to pay, nor to make problems for you or the server If it's possible Ok I've had a look to instant SSL but it's free only for 90 days Thanks by advance Hell_of_BSOD
Ashoat Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Hmmm... looks like there are no permanently free SSL certificates that are trusted by most browsers. I guess you'll have to go with self-signed. I've granted you a dedicated IP - you should be able to create and install a certificate now. Note that it'll take 24 hours after installation to work.

Ashoat Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Post a separate topic, and explain why you need it.
ageblek Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 I need it to use with my SSL certificate, My site will do a little survey, and I think I need SSL to secure the data transmission
