Electimortar Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 I didn't create it, I just uploaded my forums software, and it appeared. And also, I'm using FileZilla, and when I click edit, a blank page comes up.

And also, I'm using FileZilla, and when I click edit, a blank page comes up. I can't help you with FileZilla cause I don't use it. Can't you go to your cPanel File Manager and edit your page that way? Just click the icon (not the name) of the index.html page and you'll see the file options. Click the "Edit File" link and edit away.
Electimortar Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 Ok, I did that put the code in, but the favicon doesn't appear.
Byron Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Ok, I did that put the code in, but the favicon doesn't appear. You'l probably need to do a refresh to see it.
Electimortar Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 I did about 3, I even closed the page, and reopened it.

Ashoat Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Your "index.html" file in your root directory is a small pure HTML file - the favicon HTML should be easy to add to that. As for your forums, you'll need to contact the MyBB folks about that. Most forum software has some HTML customization feature somewhere.
Mokothemonkey Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 go to w3schools.com so you can learn to actualy make your website. Also, if you don't know a favicon is the little icon beside the address bar. Make sure it is 32x32 px and is titled favicon.ico NOT favicon.jpg or favicon.gif Also I looked at your webpage and the code still isn't in there. All it is is this: <html> <head> </head> <body> </body> </html> You should realy add something to your page before worrying about a favicon. You don't need to start "accessorizing" your site until you actualy have a site.
Zillionz Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Cool... I thought we were restricted on having our own favicons... just gave this a try and placed one on my site... it's as basic as imaginable, but now that I know I can have one, I'll go about designing something more fancy tomorrow
