Failed to ping My Domain Name although DNS was configured successfully yesterday

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I signed up for free hosting last month, with domain name "astroet.com",

I encountered a difficulty of failing connection to this domain name after

successful configuration of its DNS. It seems that domain name "astroet.com"

could not be analyzed.

According to the configuration guide, I've set the ns1.heliohost.org and

ns2.heliohost.org as DNSs of my domain name. For confirmation after 24hours,

I used the tool of WHOIS LOOKUP("http://domains.whois.com") to do it,

results as following:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

---Whois Search Results

---

---Domain Name : astroet.com Domain Name ..................... astroet.com

---Name Server ..................... ns1.heliohost.org

---ns2.heliohost.org

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Could you please help me?

Thanks!

Thanks for your prompt reply!

It's strange that in my location, I can't reach to it; then I executed "ping www.astroet.com",

it returned "Ping request could not find host www.astroet.com. Please check the name and try again.";

and I make a test by type "ping ns1.heliohost.org", it's ok by returning:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pinging ns1.heliohost.org [65.19.143.4] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 65.19.143.4: bytes=32 time=412ms TTL=52

Reply from 65.19.143.4: bytes=32 time=331ms TTL=52

Reply from 65.19.143.4: bytes=32 time=366ms TTL=52

Reply from 65.19.143.4: bytes=32 time=383ms TTL=52

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I think what you got was probably cache content, I'm not sure.

Could you please make a test again by typing "ping www.astroet.com"

in your console, then check what it will return?

Thanks!

Yes, my connection is screwy. It really works!

I'm in China now, will it be blocked probably in my location by some unknown reasons.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you, byron!

Thanks, Wizard!

Before trying that, I want to ask HELIOHOST's administrator(s) for confirming

if the configuration of my count in HELIOHOST is ok or not; if this domain name

has been blocked or other excepional misfunction.

BTW, I had connected to "www.astroet.com" successfully several days ago,

and I had got the correct pinging results.

djbob, or Kyougi, could you please help me to look over it? Hope to get your good news

ASAP.

Thanks!

The configuration for your account is okay, and I'm seeing and pinging the domain fine. I think your ISP might be blocking it. Have you tried accessing through a proxy?

djbob, thank you every much!

Yes, it is really my ISP's reason for the problem. Many users like me failed to

access the outer DNS like our "heliohost.org". Hope it'll be solved soon!

Thank you again for your help! djbob.
