Phpbb or Invision?

i would pick IPB because theres tought security and custom BB codes and more

phpBB hands down. I have never seen a reason to pay for a php application when you can get something like it for free. Plus Olympus will have so many features. (you can go here http://www.phpbbhacks.com/phpbb300/ to see the ACP)

i use phpbb. never had anything to complain about it... and as SBA said, if anything free is as good as a payed one... fo with the free

PHPBB is good and free and all, but I haven't seen an update on it in a while.

 

Then again, IPB's updates are now paid only.

 

But then again, IPB has a faster default skin load.

PHPBB is good and free and all, but I haven't seen an update on it in a while.

There's been a lot of security updates. In November I had 2.0.11, and now I have 2.0.16

 

Plus, once Olympus is completed, they will add features more often, since most of the development is going into that. (btw, I just saw the acp of Olympus and it is sweeet)

phpBB all the way. It's free, fast, and user-friendly. Plus it has some pretty cool mods.

When it comes to the current stable versions, IPB. Feature-packed and ready to use.. but when phpbb 3 comes out final, it will beat IPB

well i have got a ipb syt and no probs so i vote for ipb!!!

free IPB versions are quite good. U can find their mods @ invisionize

 

As for phpbb, plain phpbb sucks

 

But phpbb fm (fully modded ) rocks
