I'm working on it. These last few downtimes are particularly bothersome, because they keep causing sshd to go down, which means I have to email the datacenter folks to reboot the server since I can't access it at all.

I have taken the following services down to try to pinpoint the problem:

SMTP

POP3

FTP

PostgreSQL

SpamAssassin

I've confirmed that named (BIND... that software that manages the nameservers and resolves URLs) and crond (the software that executes certain processes at specified times) are not at fault. I am now testing httpd (Apache... the software that processes and passes webpages on to clients) to see if it is at fault.

Enabling httpd makes the problems come back.

I'm now trying to leave httpd and named on (the two essential services for accessing webpages... see last post), but I have disabled crond (see last post). If everything works fine, then crond is at fault. I'll have to do a binary search through everyone's crons to pinpoint which user is disabling the server every few hours.

I think I've finally identified the problem. I'm going to leave some of the services for a little longer, and if everything is good we will be up tomorrow.

Took me long enough, but it's figured out. Server should be stable now.

That's really great to hear! Thanks djbob! :)

Greetings from Spain ^^ DJBob could be cool if you are making maintenance you send to all customers an email saying the're some problems, only for kwnow if you are fixing anything. Bye ^_^

Does this mean that the severs will be permanently back online now? Because for the past two weeks I have only been able to access cPanel at 6.00pm(GMT) or later.
