olecountryhag Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 I don't know what to say other than I have had terrible experiences with other free sites but I cannot afford to buy one yet. I have mostly run into "no support" even on their forums. No one around, then I tried phone numbers and even "online chat" they claim will answer. Anyway, I am here now and just tired of looking and so need my site up and running. Some of my needs: I have a domain name I paid my last 20 dollars for about 4-5 months ago I would like to keep. Can I use that domain name on helionet? Then I need to be able to upload my dreamweaver pages, only 5 pages of text with one that will have photos of products as my site will be for affiliate marketing. So here are my pages basically: Home = short blurb with a banner I created and my menu buttons About Us = Text w/ maybe one other photo besides the banner The Mall = a store for my products, which will be widgets from Amazon and Ebay etc. FAQ's = Just Text Customer Comments = Just a widget for customers to fill in the blanks. I think Helio has enough of everything but my biggest concern is the dreamweaver being ok to upload and the transfer of the domain name. Thank you all and I hope to meet some of you soon:) denise
Ashoat Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 You should be able to use that domain name, although you shouldn't have had to pay $20 (that's a little steep for a domain name). Point its nameservers to ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org. To upload using Dreamweaver, just configure FTP using your HelioHost username and password. Make sure you're uploading to the public_html folder.

I better go check now on that. Just to make sure they don't charge me another fee when the 12 months are up. Ok, that is done. If you come back by bob, would you tell me "where" to change those DNS figures? I don't have a clue:( ty again, denise
