sdkudrgn88 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I'm trying to upload a version of phpBB 3, and the first installation page didn't show up at all. (Here is the page: http://centralgroup.heliohost.org/install/...amp;language=en) So I tried to figure out what the problem was, and it turns out that there are no .htaccess files at all. In any of the directories. This is weird. I tried uploading one. It told me the transfer was successful, but when I reload the page, the file isn't there anymore! I've only had the account for two days, so if it's some sort of initialization problem, please forgive me, because I couldn't find any information on it. Quote
yanuar Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 uhm.. I think think this is one of the feature restriction here. usually there is no .htaccess file and safemode enabled for free hosting everywhere Quote
Ashoat Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 We have safe_mode disabled, and we don't erase .htaccess files. .htaccess files on your site seem to be working fine for me. I have setup a test .htaccess in your root directory that redirects http://centralgroup.heliohost.org/djbobRedirect to heliohost.org. Quote
Byron Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Try logging into your file manager like this and you should see .htaccess files: http://your-domain.heliohost.org:2082/fron...r=/public_html/ Quote

But then what might be causing the blank page problem? (The page is still http://centralgroup.heliohost.org/install/...p;language=en.) Quote
Ashoat Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I honestly don't know. I would have to look through the source code to figure that out. I suggest contacting whoever makes that application. Quote
sdkudrgn88 Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 It's just a new install of phpBB 3.0.5. I'll try uploading phpBB 3.0.2 instead and see if that works. Or, actually, I'll try a fresh re-upload, and 3.0.2 failing that. I found out that my FTP client wasn't uploading certain files. Quote
sdkudrgn88 Posted June 27, 2009 Author Posted June 27, 2009 *bump* It works when I upload it to ByetHost. So it's definitely a problem here. Perhaps it has something to do with the way Cpanel is configured? If that's the case, I don't know what it is. Quote

Secondly your url deosn't include the forum folder. Quote

Ashoat Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 You probably CHMOD'd something wrong or something. I know for a fact that there are a bunch of working phpBB installations working on HelioHost. Why not try using Fantastico to install phpBB? Quote
