MYSQL not working

i have a forum, it runs smf, and it is getting a "connection problems" error.

along with that i am trying to move it to a new server (because of the downtime) and when i try to move the database to the new server, i get a mysql error when i upload the backup file.

 

if anyone can fix either of these problems, it would help alot.

You know, being a bit more "specific" and telling us just exactly what the error is might help.

Don't use smf use IPB (Invision Power Board). It's easier and looks better too. Plus the setup is easier and you can mods it like crazy using stuff from invisionize. that is my opinion however. I can help you obtain IPB if that will help as I dislike phpbb....

You have three posts and three members. Just reinstall it on your new host rather than having to adjust your backup. It'll take the same amount of time to set up.

No, my freind owns the domain. I am being loaned the space, because heliohost was and is crashing.

Hi guys,

 

I get "the beep" when I start up and shutdown at least I know why now.

 

Is there a way to either replace these beeps with a more pleasant startup/shutdown sound, or if not, how can I stop the beep altogether?

If you don't push the "power button" you won't hear the "beep"

Your forum doesn't seem to be getting any connection errors to me. Can you specify a URL that shows the error?
