Derek Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Okay I decided to try out Helio host, but I didn't want to register with the username that I always sign up for things with. Also, if I'm switching Web Hosts, I will have to switch all my databases, etc. I thought it would be a good idea to make a "test" account for myself. I figured I could just ask the webmaster of heliohost to delete my "test" account so I could make my "main" account. But after registration, I received the message "Your account has been created. You may access cPanel at 'blahblahblah'." or something. So I went to the link it provided, but I got an error with my internet browser (Firefox) saying that the website didn't exist! I went to the HelioHost homepage and used their login form there. It didn't work either! So I tried making another "test" account but I got the "login error" thing. I assume it's because I already created a user on this IP. Can anyone get my test account to work? Will I be able to delete that account and make my main acocunt later if I choose? PS: The username I used for registration was: ishida . The email I used for it was: ishidableach@gmail.com (I don't use the email anymore, thats why).
Wizard Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Please wait 24 hours after your account has been created to ask for help.
Ashoat Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Note that you only have one chance to create your account. Please carefully review your submission before finalizing. Only one account is allowed per user. Deleting accounts justs adds more work for me. Please follow directions next time. Your test account should be active within 24 hours hours, as stated in the confirmation message after your account was created.

I have also just created an account as well. By the way: This is the best and most promising web hosting site I have ever seen!
Derek Posted November 18, 2008 Author Posted November 18, 2008 Sorry about the deleting accounts thing, but I think I should mention that I made my account more than 24 hours. I will try again in a couple hours, and right now its 7:25 PM so I will try it in about 9 hours as well. Thanks for the quick replies

Djbob validates every account by hand, as well as maintain both heliohost and helionet, so it usually takes him a while to get to validating the accounts among all his other jobs. Your original one should be working soon, if not, note so here.
kvhc128 Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I have another question: How long does it take for a co.cc domain nameserver change to take effect (I switched from my old hosting site to this one)? The websites says 48 hours but I am confident that it is faster.
Derek Posted November 18, 2008 Author Posted November 18, 2008 Co.cc (for me, at least) took about 5 hours for the name server to finally kick in (or am I thinking of the domain I bought on GoDaddy?...) Either way, I'm sure its less than 7 hours.
Espen Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Does anyone know if it might take a little over 24hrs before I can use my new account (it's been about 27hrs now)? Don't want to nag or anything... (but did I just nag?) Anyway, hope to have my account up and running soon... Cheers Espen Sydney, Australia
Ashoat Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Everything should be OK in another 24 hours.
