roh112 Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 I experience some problems while trying to configure my mx entries using the cpanel. Clicking on the mx entry link results to this: Not Found The server was not able to find the document (./frontend/x3/mail/mx.html) you requested. Please check the url and try again. You might also want to report this error to your webhost. cpaneld/11.23.6 Server at www.heliohost.org Any help? Thank you in advance and keep up the good work!
roh112 Posted November 12, 2008 Author Posted November 12, 2008 Try again now. Working like a charm, thank you.
roh112 Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 Well, another problem (?) came up. The script that validates the mx entry in cpanel doesn't accept hosts with more than 2 dots (.) in the hostname, thus I cannot add google mail servers (check here). Any help is appreciated.
Ashoat Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Hmm, I know other people here are using Google mail servers. I'm not sure exactly how they do it, though. I'll let the cPanel folks know about that problem. EDIT cPanel says: "A workaround is to disable javascript before visiting the area in cPanel." They say they will fix the problem soon.
Ola Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Hi, I also have a problem with cpanel and mx entries. When I am trying to change it, it says: There was a problem changing the mx entry. Show Details Error fetching zone data for trida2010.co.cc.db's MX On account trida2010.co.cc
Ashoat Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I'm not sure that CO.CC domains support MX entries. Either that, or they are not setting HelioHost as authoritative for MX entries. Ask around to figure out how to figure MX entries on CO.CC domains
Ola Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 I'm not sure that CO.CC domains support MX entries. Either that, or they are not setting HelioHost as authoritative for MX entries. Ask around to figure out how to figure MX entries on CO.CC domains No, it must be problem on heliohost, because i set nameservers to heliohost, then in cpanel i try domains.live.com mx entries, they works, but i decided to change it to google .. but from that point i can't change it to anything Can you fix it, please? So: Can you please reset my account? I think it should help .. Thanks.
gillam Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 I am having same problem, trying to redirect MX for my .co.cc to a gmail on ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. Has anyone been able to fix this?
Ashoat Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 gillam: What do you mean by "same problem"? Be specific. There are at least two different problems in this thread. Ola: What happens if you try to switch to domains.live.com? Does it still error out? Also, what do you mean by "reset my account"?
gillam Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 I am trying to configure my MX records in CPANEL for GMAIL apps. I try to add MX records for GMAIL. I insert the MX record, with Java script off so that the browser allows it. I then get a message "Error fetching zone data for agillam.co.cc.db's MX" Help please!
Ashoat Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Is this still happening right now? Does it happen if you add MX records for another address?
Ola Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 It still happens right now. It also don't work for all other adresses .. By reseting my account i mean if you can't resetup my acc - setting all as it was when i register ... Or couldn't you set the mx entries for trida2010.co.cc to aspmx.l.google.com and also make CNAME point from mail.trida2010.co.cc to ghs.google.com?
Ashoat Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 OK, I have manually edited your zone file for the CNAME. However, MX records are giving me the same errors as they are giving you. I'm looking into this with the cPanel folks; I'll let you know once I have an answer. EDIT Never mind, I have figured this out. Ola, your MX records are now pointed. gillam: try editting your MX record in cPanel again.
