Ashoat Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Please research the concept of SSL before requesting it. For SSL to work, you need a certificate. Try Wikipedia or Google.
mahdideveloper Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 Do you already have a signed certificate? yes ser I get certificate from http://www.instantssl.com that's free for 90 days thanks for your guide now I add .crt file in "Generate, view, upload, or delete SSL certificates" but ssl in my domain projects.heliohost.org doesn't active please help me if this problem depended on host and other things . I want send to you .crt file If you want use it.
Ashoat Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Login to your cPanel and navigate to http://stevie.heliohost.org:2082/frontend/...sl/install.html. There, you may upload your .crt file. You will need a .key file as well.
mahdideveloper Posted August 13, 2008 Author Posted August 13, 2008 when select a domain fill the CRT text_box and key text_box in automatic mode. and when click on install certificate this message is apear : SSL Install SSL Host Setup Sorry, you must have a dedicated ip to use this feature! please help me what's dedicated Ip that is error for host or for .crt file and instantssl company
mahdideveloper Posted August 14, 2008 Author Posted August 14, 2008 thanks now ssl run. yesterday that's not work now run and accept ssl thanks alot.
Ashoat Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Yeah, I forgot to post here that I gave you a dedicated IP. Hope everything works out
bobleponge Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 How to get a dedicated IP for my account byped.heliohost.org ? Also, do you have shared SSL (like in https://ssl.heliohost.org/~username ) so you never run out of IP ? Can I use a non heliohost.org based certificate (like a myaccount.tk) ? When I try to do so in the "install certificate" panel, it doesn't work. I'm asking this because I couldn't get a certificate on a subdomain, only for the main domain.
Ashoat Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I am surprised that you were able to get a certificate for your main domain. You went to SSL/TLS Manager -> Activate SSL on Your Web Site (HTTPS), right?
bobleponge Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I am surprised that you were able to get a certificate for your main domain. You went to SSL/TLS Manager -> Activate SSL on Your Web Site (HTTPS), right? I've search the forum and found this address : http://stevie.heliohost.org:2082/frontend/...sl/install.html This is where I've tried to save the certificate I have for my "something.tk" domain. Of course, the second field "key" doesn't accept the certificate, as it's for base domain something.tk not heliohost.org (I would like to point the DNS to heliohost later on, but I can't install the certificate). I've then tried with a 90 days trial InstantSSL certificate for the subdomain, and I couldn't install it (error: Failed to install SSL certificate on the domain) Usually, I need to get a dedicated IP, am I right? Anyway, my first question was, as IP cost money, do you (plan to) have a shared SSL account (I don't care not to use my own certificate) like https://a.heliohost.org/~username ? Thank you for your answer.
Ashoat Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Our parent host supposedly offers "unlimited IPs", so as long as they keep giving us IPs we are going to continue to offer dedicated IPs for SSL I currently have a pending request for a new block of IPs. See this topic for more information. UPDATE Turns out that my colocation provider is on vacation until September 2nd. You'll have to wait until some time after that for the SSL feature... sorry.
bobleponge Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Ok, great! I'll wait for the 2nd of september then. Thanks for all.
