In the beginning, the One was really bored, so she set the environmental variables of the universe system (which runs on Unix, of course) so that it would evolve to create sentient life. In fact, her usage of export was so deep, that she made mankind evolve so that this hat game would be invented. In which, she bestowed Wizard a hard link to the hat.
