rct Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Why would anyone want a coffee table which can show you pictures when you could just have the pictures on paper? Quote
teh silly Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Well, how often do you want to get laid? What's that? Yes, I want a coffee table that shows me pictures, too. Quote
Van Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Why would anyone want a coffee table which can show you pictures when you could just have the pictures on paper? Are you kidding?! Microsoft Surface seems like the coolest thing since sliced bread! Sure, it may be impractical for the average Joe to have in his own home, but what about food services or hotels as shown in their promo video? A hotel could have three or four of them in the lobby for guests to use and plan their day out on. Higher end food establishments could replace every table with these. On the video, you can see customers buying food, shopping for other items, and even playing with the simulated bubbles on the screen. I would love to own one in my living room! - ArceRC - Van Quote
Augus.to Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 but how can someone press ctrl+alt+delete on that thing if a 'blue screen' appears!!!??? Quote
ShannenName Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Don't you just shut down if the blue screen appears xD (un-plug it!) Quote
Van Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Don't you just shut down if the blue screen appears xD (un-plug it!) I think it would be kind of hard to get to. You think there will be a whole bunch of cables running to outlets in a restaurant? - ArceRC - Van Quote
ShannenName Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Oh right were talking about in public places...one word...overload hehehe (plugs lots of high power appliances into anywhere I can find) Quote
Van Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Oh right were talking about in public places...one word...overload hehehe (plugs lots of high power appliances into anywhere I can find) Haha, that reminds me: One time, when I was traveling to San Antonio, I stopped at some diner place to get some food. Well, my phone was almost dead so I brought in my charger and just casually plugged it into the wall. When the manager walked by he almost had a heart attack! I don't know what a simple phone could do. Anyway, I was wondering, if this is in a public establishment, how is it powered? - ArceRC - Van Quote
Doctor Steel Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 This sounds like a great idea (even if it was spawned in the bowels of Redmond). Now, if we could get VMWare / VirtualBox on it, and pop in an Ubuntu image... Quote
