awesomegamer Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 I changed the FTP account for my friend from "forum" to "forums" (to correspond with the new forum) and noticed it does not connect. I tried my main account but it no longer works either. We both received similar messages from our clients: [21:48:07] SmartFTP v2.5.1006.5 [21:48:08] Resolving host name "tehgang.com" [21:48:08] Connecting to 64.235.55.112 Port: 21 [21:48:10] No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. [21:48:10] Cannot login waiting to retry (30s)... [21:48:10] Client closed the connection. [21:48:10] Active Help: http://www.smartftp.com/support/kb/index.php/58
Lena Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 I confirm the problem: $ ftp 64.235.55.112 ftp: connect: Connection refused FTP daemon is not running: `ps axww` command doesn't show a FTP server. On another hosting with cPanel that command shows "pure-ftpd".
awesomegamer Posted August 5, 2007 Author Posted August 5, 2007 Hooray! It connected : ) Thanks djbob! Although resolved, my curiosity takes over... what happened?
Ashoat Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 FTPd stopped. Don't know why... it likes to do that sometimes.
