Tbone Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Great movie! Anyone else see it? What did you think of it?
resin Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 I just saw this today...It was pretty good but it just seems like filler until the next movie... the fight scene was good but the ending really left me wondering(I have not read the books). anyway I would say it was o.k. for what it was, filler.
AJKING Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 I'm going to see it tomorrow apparently it the best of the films so far!
Tbone Posted July 15, 2007 Author Posted July 15, 2007 I did like it more then most of the other movies in the series. I didnt think it was a filler.. but i have read the books.
Geou Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Heh, well I saw it two days ago. It was a great movie, I liked it more than the other Harry Potter films. It managed to cover most of the big points of the book as well. One thing that bothers me though, is that did *SPOILER* Cho Chang ever explain why she told Ms. Umbridge about Dumbledore's Army? I haven't read the book in a while... *END SPOILER*
Harlequin Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 I didn't like Order of the Phoenix, to be honest. I found that it was lacking in canon, many of the book's events were left out or otherwise unexplained and it was boring. Good to look at, though. The effects were nice.
Tbone Posted July 16, 2007 Author Posted July 16, 2007 Im not sure if Cho told why in the book. It was the potion thing that makes you tell the truth. I think they said that in the movie?
Harlequin Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 In the book, it was Marietta Edgecombe who told on the DA, and she was "punished" accordingly for it - Hermione charmed the parchment so that anyone who told Umbridge (or anyone in authority) about the DA would get "SNEAK" written across their heads in pimples that never went away. In the film, they changed it so that Cho told under the influence of Veritaserum, but this never happened. The film never explained that Hermione charmed the parchment, the character of Marietta Edgecombe didn't exist and it was all wrong, anyway. A good deal of the book was left out of the film.
Tbone Posted July 17, 2007 Author Posted July 17, 2007 Wow.. they change that alot! it was a year ago when i read that book so i forgot some of it.
Harlequin Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Yeah, they really did. I'm just very glad that they left Hermione's "You because YOU have the emotional range of a teaspoon" in. They took out Vernon's raving about "dementoids" which I was really looking forward to.
Tbone Posted July 18, 2007 Author Posted July 18, 2007 Yeah i remember the dementoids! that was halarious! The part with the teaspoon was great
joemama718 Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 it was good for a movie...but in my opinion all the harry potter movies left me disappointed cause I always saw how much of the book they left out.
Geou Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Whoa, I forgot about the whole "Sneak" thing! I wish they kept Fred and George's "Give her hell, Harry!" And they COMPLETELY left out Ron and Hermione becoming prefects, Ron joining Quidditch, and Quidditch period! o_o
