More Smilies???

I was wondering if maybe we can add more smilies, to the database.

 

If you want I can give you some to add, but if it is possible can we add some more.

 

There aren't many of the basic ones. Like crying, or crying and laughing. The ones the forum currently has are great, but if you can add more that will be greatly appreciated.

 

Everybody who else has something to say on this topic, please do so. Maybe that will help convince the admins. ;-)

I actually like things just the way they are. I hardly ever use the smilies, but when I do, what is there does me just fine. Thats All She Wrote!

Not necessarily - not all emoticons must be listed in the post window. Furthermore, each emoticon is less than a kilobyte in size. Compared to the size of the whole page, which is probably at least 1 MB in size, this will cause a slowdown of about 0.1% in post windows, assuming that I make the emoticon visible in the post window. Honestly, the effect is negligible.

Oh well, I guess its no, lol. I just thought that more smilies would make the posts seem more interesting than just plain old text. lol

I like the current smilies on HelioNet. I also think more could be added, but only if they serve a real purpose: in my opinion smilies wearing weird headgears or jumping in weird ways have no value. What I noticed when I was writing my introduction post, was that there isn't a real 'embarasse' smiley: .

Same I agree with you. I don't see a point to the crazy smilies. But something like the crying smiley, the laughing so hard that your crying smiley, and; like u mentioned; the embarrassed smiley.
