stu Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 I think capital punishment is bad. in a country with death penalty, the crime rates are actually Higher than the ones wihtout the death penalty. Staying in prison for the rest of your life is worse than getting shot in the head and die instantly.
Prashant Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 Well Morally and Ideally "Something is always better than nothinG" So I would say no to capitol punishment on "Human grounds" But when I think of those who suffered due to accused intentional deeds, then my mind starts thinking exactly the other way round prefering the capitol punishment. So Finally It comes to the mindset of the person who is the judge. Had I been the judge, I would have tried to maintained a perfect equilibrium between human and emotional feelings and would have used capitol punishment when required.
majazac Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 the problem is to determine when is the required time, the rightfull time. Cuz you can perfectly well be based on fake evidence and so on. Don't get me wrong, I do think that the hiddeos crimes should be punished with death...but only in a very efficient legal system
Prashant Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 That's exactly the problem. How to determine the reality that hides behind the curtains is the problem of investigating agencies not of the judge. A judge has to decide on the basis of evidences be it fake or real. We all know people with influence over society and government more often than not easily escape severe punishments and that's a big problem
majazac Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 that's true. But by legal system I was also referring to investigation and prison. All fases
roote Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 no one born a criminal, they grow to be one, and at the same way, they can change and start a "new life".
