Alonessix Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Alone here again.I'm working on a system that lets users submit content. The Terms of Service states that "everything displayed on your site will be your property". However, I'm not sure what exactly this entails -- it seems vague. I want to be able to let my users submit their own plotlines, pseudocode, and possibly images for a game creator I'm making. Is this allowed without taking my users' rights to the stories and things they create away? or does it qualify as a break of the ToS? I'm confused here. Thanks!
Byron Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Your users can submit anything they want as long as it's not copyrighted or porn or offensive but just remember your responsible for anything they submit. Your site will be suspended for any content that breaks the TOS no matter who submitted it.
Alonessix Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 Another clarification: will my account still be suspended even if I take action against the content that the offending user submitted? For example, if someone was on a forum and they spammed the place w/ porn but I cleaned it up as quickly as possible, would I still get banned from Heliohost?
Byron Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 If you don't clean it up in time and somebody reports it, then your site could be suspended (not banned). If that happens 3 times, then you would be suspended permanently. As long as you take the time to monitor your site, you should be ok. 1
