awesomegamer Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 looks mostly like java, ive seen and can use all other languages mentioned, but i really think java is closest... php? the varibles have to be used with $ and i havent really seen a game made with that. im not saying its not possible, but probably complicated. Kyougi Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 I've never seen a stand-alone PHP game EVER (is it even possible?), although there are PLENTY of web-based games w/ PHP. Quote
GameClaw_268 Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Probably because only webservers have php, and it just works so much better when you have MySQL support. Quote
Ashoat Posted July 2, 2005 Posted July 2, 2005 PHP isn't good for video games because it would be as slow as a snail due to that fact that it compiles on runtime. Quote
RelaxRelapse Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 from what I've read flash is the best Flash allows a much higher level of complexity in online games. It frequently allows players to use a wide variety of weapons and objects, and can supply much more detailed maps and settings. woops I was searching and didn't notice this was old. Quote
Geou Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Haha, I use Game Maker as well! It's really effective and doesn't take long to learn its language. Once you do, there all dlls that you can use for online play and creating MMORPGs. There are GM MMOs right now, like Stick Online if you've ever heard of that. Quote
