A Module In My Joomla Webpage On Heliohost Needs Access To Tcp Port 8000

A module in my Joomla webpage on Heliohost needs access to TCP Port 8000.

It is the fsShoutCast module, that shows all kinds of statitistics from my ShoutCast

Internet radio server, that I host on locally on my PC on the Internet.

These stats are transmitted via TCP port 8000,

which has to be open on the hosting server on the side of Helionet.

I just tried this module fsShoutCast and with the current Helionet settings does NOT work.

So I make the request of opening tcp port 8000 on the Helionet server (Stevie).

My user name: scteta30

My domain: http://scitechtalk.heliohost.org/scitechtalk/

Server: Stevie

Thank you !

The functionality I need requires that a special TCP port be open for this data to be communicated (ShoutCast protocol).

(Read the specs of ShoutCast to see the details).

I do not think there is an alternative for that, but if someone technically oriented can indicate how this could be done, you are very welcome do to so !

If I would use a payed hosting provider I would need exactly the same functionality, and if they could not deliver, I would search another party.

The functionality I mean as that listeners to the Internet radio station can see the items in the broadcast in realtime on the website related to this radio station.

I consider that an important service to the listeners, not just a "fancy feature" !

Audio is transmitted not by the helionet server, but by my own, private server.

This radio server has a administrative interface, that contains statistics related to the broadcasts,

that are available at at the indicated port 8000, and that can be displayed e.g on a webpage on a hosting server.

But that requires port 8000 to be open on the helioserver to be able to receive these statistics.

The amount of data that is sent via 8000 is relativly low, so this can hardly be any problem for the heliohost server !

In the mean time this problem is solved ! Thanks to Krydos.

So the answer to Krydos question "Is it working now?" is : YES !!!

Thank you very much !
