jvaughan Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Hey all, I currently have been using the Microsoft Small Office Live package to monitor my email and host my website. However, I need more out of my website so I'm switching over to helios. From what I understand, its not possible to have my domain hosted via helios for my website purposes but to retain my @vaughanj.com email through the windows live service. Is this correct? Is there anyway to have the cpanel reroute and send my email to/from the live service?
Ice IT Support Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Use the MX server tools in cPanel (null)
jvaughan Posted January 17, 2012 Author Posted January 17, 2012 Thanks for the reply. What should I set as the destination? ns1.officelive.com (the dns settings I had my domain set to before heliohost)mail.live.compop3.live.com They're all valid addresses, but none seem to do the trick. My login with live is "justin@vaughanj.com". Will I still be able to use the remote mx feature even if my email has the "@vaughanj.com" domain in it? I have a feeling live/hotmail won't pick it up. Thanks again for the help.
Ice IT Support Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 I know from using Google Apps they give you the address when setting up your email. Once you create the MX entry Google checks to make sure it is valid. I think the process takes about 24hours. (null)
