Ice IT Support Posted December 21, 2011 Share Posted December 21, 2011 Eariler today I received a 'Win 7 2012 AntiMalware' program that was automatically downloaded through your ad banner in cPanel. I'm sure we all know the symptoms:deletes current antivirusmakes false infection claimsdeletes important system filesThankfully this was easier to remove than I thought (I used system restore to the 18th). The reason I am posting this, however, is to alert you that your site is being used as a (gateway?) for malware attacks. I understand that this is out of your control because the ads are controlled by Google, but is there a way to regulate ad content or something? Tjoene Posted December 23, 2011 Share Posted December 23, 2011 That is first time I've heard that an Ad automatically downloads malware.Maybe you can install an ad-blocking plug-in and configure the filters so they only allow ad's you trust. The advertisements are run by Google Ads which prohibits the use of malware in their advertisements.
