i7Grendel Posted September 18, 2011 Share Posted September 18, 2011 You're not the only one with the problem. At Heliohost, you sometimes just get an error 500 when accessing your site. This happens often if you access cPanel and/or FTP and your website at the same time. You use up too much server power, so you're site pops out. Close cPanel and the FTP connection and wait for a while. It will soon be back up. When I just accessed your site, it was up, so don't worry. Guest xaav Posted September 18, 2011 Share Posted September 18, 2011 In order for each user not to crash other user's site, we limit the number of processes you are allowed to have. Additionally, we have a script that monitors how much CPU and Memory each process uses. If a process is found to be going over these limits, we will increase the niceness of that process until it is not using up more than it's share of resources. This will cause a slowdown of your site at best, a 500 Internal Server Error at worst. We're not trying to be mean, it's just that we have thousands of users that want their sites up also.
