Ice IT Support
Hi, I have noticed a lot of people have been having SSL certificates installed. I have been considering this as well. I am aware that you need a dedicated IP, but I was wondering if it is possible to generate a certificate yourself in cPanel? Thanks! P.S. I was looking for an answer to this, but it was currently 500ing (if that's a word )
Byron
Yes you can generate a certificate yourself but it won't do any good unless you have a dedicated ip. A dedicated ip is $12 dollars a year from heliohost.
jje
Self Signed Certificates will show an error in the browser's window warning them about possible breach in security. Plus, you can only use SSL certificate (whether Self Signed or Paid) with a dedicated IP. If you wish to buy one, send $12 to admin@heliohost.org
cl58
Just to clarify, that's send $12 to admin@heliohost.org via PayPal.
Guest xaav
You're better off using CaCERT, and telling your clients to install their root certificate.
