djbob, I tried adding 2 addon-domains and they gave me successful message but none of them seem to be working. One of them appeared on the list but then it was gone with no reason.. I'm only testing the cpanel and some dns management, so this domains are not important for now.. My username is the same from here and the main domain is disco.helio.... addons are: s.discowd.com [i already deleted the ftp account and the folder for this one, so really doesn't matter if it gets configured or not) s1.discowd.com [EDIT: I added this domain with server load bellow 1, it appeared in the addon list but then disappeared. Is it normal to happen like this?) BTW, I have one question... Does your server allow people to point the IPs from your nameservers to some custom nameservers of our own and use them with the domains?? Do you change the ips from ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org often? I say this because I have one domain that I bought some time ago only for use as custom nameservers and to "play with" because it sounds funny in my language (not offensive) (: ..

Yeah, linking gave me lots of errors too. I did one of the worst things too, cross-compiled php and lighty (and the rest of the infinite dependencies) for MIPS from x86, so, it was the double in problems .. If I could re-create the problem I would, but since I lost my drive with all my work in ubuntu, I've been trying to forget what I even did :\ .. But the problem should be being caused by what you just said, I hope... Many thanks for this great oasis in hosting (; .. Really love what you are doing, running you're own server, compiling and setting everything from source, just the things I love most... Best regards and really good luck (:

Hey djbob, just want to report some strange behaviour with php (didn't know if someone already reported this). I noticed that http://www.heliohost.org/phpinfo.php suddenly ends in the ODBC driver, witch means you have some module/dependency not well compiled. I had the same error when I compilled php (and its dependencies) last year, and it stopped in the same thing (ODBC), so you could be facing the same trouble I had. I can't remember for sure where it was, but I think after ODBC (not sure if order is always the same) comes openssl, so, problem could be there. If remember it right, I had problems with sqlite and GD too, but those could be just fine in this case... Think if you run the test suits of the dependencies or the test suite from php you can discover where is the problem... Just wanted to inform you, if you are not aware of it by now... Best regards, disco EDIT: this is the html from php that came with XAMPP (php 5.3.1): <tr class="h"><th>Directive</th><th>Local Value</th><th>Master Value</th></tr> <tr><td class="e">odbc.allow_persistent</td><td class="v">On</td><td class="v">On</td></tr> <tr><td class="e">odbc.check_persistent</td><td class="v">On</td><td class="v">On</td></tr> <tr><td class="e">odbc.default_cursortype</td><td class="v">Static cursor</td><td class="v">Static cursor</td></tr> <tr><td class="e">odbc.default_db</td><td class="v"><i>no value</i></td><td class="v"><i>no value</i></td></tr> <tr><td class="e">odbc.default_pw</td><td class="v"><i>no value</i></td><td class="v"><i>no value</i></td></tr> <tr><td class="e">odbc.default_user</td><td class="v"><i>no value</i></td><td class="v"><i>no value</i></td></tr> <tr><td class="e">odbc.defaultbinmode</td><td class="v">return as is</td><td class="v">return as is</td></tr> <tr><td class="e">odbc.defaultlrl</td><td class="v">return up to 4096 bytes</td><td class="v">return up to 4096 bytes</td></tr> <tr><td class="e">odbc.max_links</td><td class="v">Unlimited</td><td class="v">Unlimited</td></tr> <tr><td class="e">odbc.max_persistent</td><td class="v">Unlimited</td><td class="v">Unlimited</td></tr> </table><br /> and this is from here: <tr class="h"><th>Directive</th><th>Local Value</th><th>Master Value</th></tr> <tr><td class="e">odbc.allow_persistent</td><td class="v">On</td><td class="v">On</td></tr> <tr><td class="e">odbc.check_persistent</td><td class="v">On</td><td class="v">On</td></tr> <tr> Next thing to show should be: odbc.default_cursortype but probably the problem could not really be relationated with it.... :\

Hey, I received today this mail: "Dear disco, Your hosting account at HelioHost has encountered an error during installation. The error is: Sorry, the password may not contain the username for security reasons. Please visit http://www.heliohost.org/scripts/signup.php and try to signup again. Regards, HelioHost Staff" Now when I try to submit this happens: "Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Compilation failed: range out of order in character class at offset 22 in /usr/local/cpanel/base/scripts/signup.php on line 76 We're sorry, but that is an invalid email address. Please go back and correct it." And when I submited before it didn't say nothing about my email... :\ BTW, my e-mail only has 2 letters before the @, don't know if someone changed the rules, but as I said, I used this email to submit my account before, and been using it for more than 10 years ;\ Regards

Thanks.. I thought I did created the new account with the same username of my previous account and that resulted in some kind of error.. Regards

Hey, I'll post the ultimate question of this sub-forum, sorry for that.. I submitted the creation of my account more than 24hours and I still have no access to it.. BTW, last year I had an account here but I stopped using it. I tried to recover with the three user names I could only have used and it always say that the account does not exist, so, I created a new one because I think my previous was completely deleted. The username I used in the new account is the same from here: disco. Thanks for your great service. Best regards, disco

Hey, I'm very glad i've discovered heliohost.org because its amazing what you are giving to all of us for free! In the first place, if I make some mistake in my grammar don't punish me, I'm Portuguese, and I'm making all the efforts to "speak" clearly. Here it goes... I signed up for a new account 2 days ago, and my account isn't already validated! When I signed, I haven't seen the button to create an account, so I hited "enter" and then I've seen the confirmation message.. Now, I'm posting this message from my girlfriend's home and I can see the button! I don't have any other account here, its my first time! The domain is "discowd.com", I already changed the nameservers and its all set to go!
