Sorry, for eating-up the better part of the page with this post, but since the issue is apparently affecting everybody else, I decided to make it public right here, rather than via some obfuscating PM. From what I have found in your httpd.conf, most things are set-up like this: *snip* However, the next entry is owned by root, rather than djbob *snip* And from here on, what follows is, no more include, and strip the owner. *snip* Your httpd.conf is some 19 odd MB's, at least the copy, from which I have taken the above info. There are 6.286 entries in trueuserowners, all djbob. I wonder, how you can have all these users, if your /home partition is a mere 264.87 GB. Dividing that by 500 MB per user would result in a maximum of 542 users. 542 * 500 = 271000 / 1024 = 264.6484375 GB or rounded to 264.65 GB. Well, then again, maybe we do the numbers different in the UK, or probably my whole formulae is wrong. You'd be needing some decent TB's, rather then GB's to match your total number of users. ips arrived with 1908 bytes, and 44 entries, which seems more closer to reality, then trueuserowners with 92.011 bytes and the aforementioned 6.286 entries, or userdomains with 550.995 bytes and 18.481 entries, including nobody. Most of which I bothered to check seem to be dead long, some appear to be still alive. However, none hosted on heliohost. Well, I only checked a few. cpanel.config arrived with 4.522 bytes php.ini measured 45.155 bytes pure-ftpd.conf carries 10.517 bytes You have approximately 9.230 services running, and some interesting passwd variants, ranging from 425.000 bytes to a little over 8 MB. There are some 10 shells configured, and 15 entries in fstab, mostly ext3, except for /home and /home1, both on ext2. I didn't know, anyone was still using them. So I spent some time snooping around a little more, but I guess, you wouldn't quite like me, to publish your whole server in public, would you? Might be funny, to watch performance, if I was to post the URL. Relax, at least some parts of the layout resist mere knocking on the door. I wouldn't be too sure, however, about what might happen, if one of those cyber-kids went by, to use a can-opener with just slightly more force. You may have managed to get that thing running - somehow - but you are miles off-course in terms of configuration. My advice would be, to shut off the box for some proper maintenance, clean it up, and then come back. I am most positive, that the majority of users would appreciate a scheduled down-time in favour of unpredictable, what-the-hack-is-going-on. Regards, Peter Heinrich Claus

Hi. As to reply to an earlier remark, whether I had an idea, how to fix it: I believe to be a simple /user/ on this machine. Fixing an apparent server problem ought to be the task of whoever is running it. Next, I'd probably have an idea, indeed; if it was my machine, and it'd be /me/, running it. Not posting, because of not knowing doesn't really help any. I would suppose, someone has done a tremendous job, screwing up either WHM, CP, or some vital parts of the server's main conf. Permissions ought to be out of the questions, since invalid permissions don' t clear existing records; at least not on any of the machines I know; unless, of course, you have some sort of /visible for admin only/ in place. More likely, I would look into path settings. Wherever you have it sitting, go there, and make sure the records are pointing to the corresponding user's account. I am fairly sure, the whole issue; once it has been solved; will turn out as trivia. You may also want to check your settings with LaFrance. You never know, but funny things tend to happen, when, and where, you least expect them. Well, that is just about as far, as my free services go. Good luck everyone.

The readings on CP are still all zero-ed. I wonder, if my last post has actually arrived somewhere. Well then, at least it seems, I've been ringing the right pair of buzzers; and my over-all picture, of what's cooking under the stove was fairly correct. So if everybody is done with euphoria: can we then come back to the topic, which still is: What gives with my add-on domains? Oh, sorry, scratch that. It ought to read: What gives with everybody's add-on domains, sub-domains, etc... Apparently there is at least 1 or 2 having the same issue. As mentioned earlier, I am moving domains out, so I wouldn't know, which of those originally configured here would be affected. There is currently only one, still active on this thing; for the mo, that is. Quite frankly, any such info ought to be plain visible in your admin panel. Just head over to my account, and fetch the required data. Volunteers: I didn't mean to down-grade whatever your job implies. Sorry, if the wording has caused some confusion about that. Rest assured, that I am in complete favour of voluntary aids. Used to, and still do, some of that myself - left alone on a different level. Well, it seems, I am not the only one in this particular dingy. Nice to meet you. To meet you, nice. However, to come back to the topic, reading through the posts, I couldn't really find any solutions, not so nice. For example, what exactly id the deeper sense, in having a pull-down stuffed-up with dummy entries? True, at least some of the domains are still resolving, for the time being, until the next flush of the DNS cache. Once that has happened, the only thing, any of those domains are resolving to, is Nirvana. Since these forums appear to be stock-piled with Admins, I wonder, if any of these actually has the required experience, to give a concrete reply; rather then the bubbles-up earlier on in the topic. Whichever topic has a slightly more delicate weighting, seems to be calling for some djbob. In other words, what are the other /Admins/ doing here, anyway, apart from joining in to give it a good shout for the Admin's Overlord? Sorry, nothing personal, no offenses intended, but where I come from, one has to pass some fancy exams before being allowed to postulate as Admin. I shall hope, whoever is in charge of this merry-go-round, has fundamental expertise enough, to apply the necessary actions asap. Frankly, I am in no particular mood for any more /funny games/. Hello. Since one of my add-on domains was behaving sort of strange lately, I went to CP, to check. Oops, while FTP and Mail accounts, as well, as file-structures, are still there, _ALL_ of my add-on domains have vanished. CP give a ZERO count. Funny thing is, at least one of these domains is (still) resolving nicely. (Moved out most of them anyway) If you could take a look into the matter; and if it helps, the domain is http://www.alphabox.uk.tc - thank you.

Regarding the blank page: any Browser should accordingly punish invalid mark-up, by stop rendering at all, just like Firefox does with invalid X(HT)ML. Maybe that way, there would be at least fewer trashy sites out there. Any site, with an; either accidental, or on purpose; potential to crash a user's system, is off the list; once and for good - at least off mine. At times, I really would like to see some sort of license, required to publish to the world - just like in the classic print-media. These days there can be absolutely no excuse whatsoever, for not having tested whatever contents locally first; prior to push them on-line. Get a copy of LAMP, WAMP, XAMPP; or whichever suits you best, and do your bloody home-work.

To begin with, you don't have any default index page. The site comes up with a generic index of listing by Apache. I have tried twice to enter your CMS. Some sort of default is half-way loading, then completely freezing my system - on both occasions. Full reset required. Sorry, what was the problem?

Unfortunately - once again - I am wasting time, waiting for DNS propagation to complete, but in the meanwhile, if you care to enter clics.uk.tc into your Google box, it comes up alright, just like a bunch of others. Obviously this means, they are not blocked. The one thing, I don't quite like about smartdots.com - the XX.tc registrar, is, that they have a large blacklist of DNS servers. So, if you are happy with your host, that doesn't mean, you can use it, to host your domain, simply because the DNS servers are black-listed. Anyway, as I have stated on www.freeunited.uk.tc, Google has declared war upon the free world. Any help to get the site alive would be greatly appreciated, thank you. Oh, and one more thing, those lists, regarding free hosts, are usually hopelessly out-dated, hence, no use at all. It has always been, and will always remain, a pain in the - you know where - to do your homework, searching, trying, errror-ing, etc. Eventually, one will find a useful combination - if just to last for a while. In the end, more and more people are moving over to the classic, reliable paid hosting track. I am in the process myself. It's just not making any sense, to have your sites, coming up, and going down every now and then.

IMHO, any CMS, free or paid, is a plain pain in the lower rear. Hardly any of them produces validating sources, depending the DTD fed to them. Hence, I would go as far, as to say, CMS are for dummies, who don't even know how to spell mark-up. But that's just my personal opinion.
