    Welcome

Nice, that is like a combined speed of 9.6-gigahertz! Even if you have thousands of users using that server, it would probably be pretty fast.
  3. actually i have a Radeon 9600 without a fan My point exactly. Different card manufacturers will have different things on their cards, regardless of the GPU, unless of course there is something required for the GPU, like in some cases, fans for more powerful processors.
  4. he could not find any fondue in Antarctica, where he was living.

    Welcome

I am pretty sure that it will speed up considerably after the server has been changed, regardless of the number of users. Intel Xeon processors are pretty fast, and they are also 64-bit. But when you have two of them running side-by-side, well, you can prepare for true 128-bit computing! btw, djbob, what kind of speed does each processor have? I have seen them range from 2-gigahertz to more than 3-gigahertz. And I hope you are using an IBM server, IBM has a fine reputation for being innovative and reliable. Their newest server family, the Blue Gene, is the fastest server in the world, with more than 100,000 PowerPC processors.
  6. Actually, two cards from different companies can have the same GPU, but the cards can be completely different. Like, one from Asus might have a fan and a TV-in socket, and another that is made by ATI might only have a heat sink and a TV-out socket. Even though it is highly unlikely that an ATI video card would not have a fan, it is an example of how much two cards from different manufacturers with the same GPUs can differ.
  7. Buenos Tardes, senior. And I'd advise you to try not to spam up your own forums.
  8. Actually, it's au revoir. I also know, "Sont les mont qui vont tres bien ensemble."
  9. Just their cards, or any cards with their GPUs? Cuz I usually prefer cards made by other companies. Like Asus or Visiontek.
  10. There, I have changed it, now I hope you are happy. You have wasted my time and my money.
  11. I was in a hurry, and besides, those constitute as "Other". But Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox are the most widely used.
  12. Actually, new Apple computers ues PowerPC processors made by International Business Machines. Like, I am pretty certain that the G5 processors used in the PowerMac G5 and the iMac G5 are made by International Business Machines. New International Business Machines servers also use PowerPC processors. Motorola usually makes processors for mobile phones and handhelds now. And most servers (small business and enterprise) actually use the Intel Xeon and Intel Itanium II processors now. They are favoured for their 64-bit capabilities and reliability.
  13. No, there are actually several versions of Microsoft Windows. The most well known versions are Windows 95, 98, 2000, Millenium Edition (ME), XP, and soon, there will be Longhorn. Each one has several editions, for instance, the XP version has Home Edition, Professional, Tablet PC Edition, Media Centre Edition, 64-bit Edition, et cetera. Each one is built for different purposes. Home Edition is usually used for Word processing and other simple tasks. Professional is usually used by engineers for mobile computing. Tablet PC Edition is used in Tablet PCs, hence the name Tablet PC Edition. Media Centre Edition is used for media centres, also hence the name. 64-bit Edition is used for computers with 64-bit processors, which may have applications that can make use of the 64-bit processor.
  14. I wasn't aware that Nikon made camcorders. I had always thought that they just made cameras, and some other stuff, but not camcorders. Can you lead me to their camcorder site? Cuz I can't find anything about camcorders from their mainpage.
  15. liked to eat chocolate fondue.
  16. Actually, the whole PC division has been sold to a Chinese company called Lenovo. So it is literally under new management.
  17. I may be buying a new camcorder soon, cuz my old JVC is really outdated. Does anybody have any advice on which camcorders are the most user-friendly, reliable, and high-quality? I like Sony Handycams with Carl Zeiss lenses , and Panasonics with Leica lenses, but I just wanted to know what others here think.
  18. Okay, I saw something really cool at this other forum, a person started with a sentence, and then other people posted sentences after the first post, and then it continued, and gradually became a story. Now, one person will write a sentence, and the other memberes follow along.
  19. I got The Sims 2 a few months ago, but I have not had a chance to play it yet. What do other users of this forum think?
