I too am having the same problem. I'm writing a C# program which gets data from the MySQL database. so while I'm still writing it it is stored on my desktop but I still want to connect to the database so I can test as I code...how do I get it to recognise me as a valid user? i.e. stop adding my server name onto the end of the user? Thanks
